NB: Amazon is often on the same page, "Product" comments Films by combining the DVD editions and Blu-Ray discs without taking account of the differences of content and of support of these different editions. Difficult to understand the reasons of this mixture... This comment refers to this edition: Some like it hot Blu-rayLa Note focuses on the Technical aspect of the Blu-Ray. For me "Some like it hot" is one of the best comedies that Cinema has given us to see, and the passing years have not altered its qualities. However, if this Blu-Ray allows us to (re) see in the best conditions, it is regrettable that the editor has not pushed a little more the work of restoration and that there are still a few small flaws on the side of the image, and the Audio part, it is a little disappointing. The film is presented in the Format of 1. 66, so there's a little black strip on each side of the image. On the set of the film the Master has been perfectly restored, but in scenes that are dark are often noticed tiny white dots, which were eventually used to it, even if in 3 or 4 scenes of these "points" are more visible.Cheap Rockler Sure-Foot Plus Pipe Clamp:
The only default "residual" on the Master that I have noticed is around 48 MIN 50 S, when the Bus of the orchestra arrives at the hotel in Florida, a thin vertical band of black appears on the right side of the image and then disappears at the end of this short sequence. The Definition is solid with a beautiful Dive, and the management of contrasts is excellent. The Black and White image provides a rich gradient of shades that are solid, and the level of detail is very high, either for the scenery, props, or costumes. The contours are well resolved. A light grain Film original has been retained. A nice three-dimensional aspect is present throughout the film, particularly in the scenes that day. The Audio Track in English DTS-HD Master Audio 5. 1 is nice but lack of spatialization, Audio Track English DTS 5. 1 shows, very front, and rather narrow, if the rendering of the diadoques is correct, the environments and music are very much in retreat. There are also Audio Tracks in Italian, German, Russian, DTS 5. 1 and Audio Tracks in Spanish, Portuguese, Dolby Digital 2. 0. Unfortunately, almost none of the Bonus is only subtitled. Fans enclosures, Blu-ray, bonus and High-Definition content, go your way : this edition will make you know the hell! Since few arrived on the video market of real scams mobile that claim to be Blu-ray but that is mostly a big sham commercial made by Pathé! I do not see this company as before, today, his image will be forever balafrée by the memory very negative that it comes to burn in my memory : that of a society that is ready to rip off its customers with its collection of fake Blu-ray "my collection". We understand well : the movies were put on Blu-ray, but the image quality is the most appalling that I have been able to see my entire life! The DVD version is of much better quality! On February 26, 2013, I bought two films of this collection in Blu-ray, I just receive them and I returned direct to Amazon for a refund! Here's my story : I was looking forward to receiving "The City of Joy" (1992) and "The Wager" (1997) in Blu-ray. I sit on my bed to watch it at the correct distance and enjoy high definition as I thought to find... first, BIG DISAPPOINTMENTS :The disc starts and I have a right to a 1st pub Pathé, images and very high resolution (which made me salivate for the sequel!). The film launches without that I can access the menu to select the language!! The image is awful, nightmarish, flee!!! (I will also advise on Digital HD test Blu-ray these Blu-ray, the critical risqe not to be sad... but it is fundamental that people know how much we take for c... in the trade sometimes!) The image of the film has enormous grain, the colors are very poorly rendered, the contrast and the picket are a disaster! It looks like a bad VHS recorded as such on Blu-ray, without improving anything! And we don't talk to me of the fact that the film is old, the season 1 of "The Fourth Dimension" (1959) Blu-ray is a much better bill, one sees that a work has been done on the image, and the picket, and this is absolutely not the case for this Blu-ray edition of "City of Joy"! The picture is even worse than on the DVD!! The cover claims that the film has a French audio track, and a track VO DTS-HD Master Audio 2. 0 and English subtitles... In fact, it is not so : the disc has no menu, and the audio track is from the outset in French and there was frankly nothing very DTS or even HD...
